He’s got it, dude! Mary-Kate Olsen’s 44-year-old boyfriend just went and put a ring on it! Us Weekly reports that the Olsen twin is engaged to Olivier Sarkozy, her French boyfriend of two years. Olivier is the half-brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, and he’s 17 years older than MK.
So far, there are no details about when the banker proposed or if the couple has talked about a wedding date. But Us says that multiple sources have confirmed the news to them.
When Mary-Kate and Olivier do tie the knot, the former Full House star will become stepmother to Olivier’s two children with ex-wife Charlotte Bernard: Julien, 12, and Margo, 10.
Back in December, rumors flew that an MK/Olivier engagement might be fast approaching when the Olsen twin was spotted shopping for an engagement ring (yes: she was doing the shopping, not him) at Neil Lane’s jewelry store in Los Angeles. At the time, it was revealed that the former child-star-turned-fashion designer prefers “cushion-cut diamonds,” and was only looking at rings that “are over five carats.”
No photos of her ring just yet, but based on MK’s parameters, we’re willing to bet it’s simply gorgeous.
